Mentor Program

The Mentor Program offers students an opportunity to get “inside” information on careers of interest by matching them with alumni/ae and professionals who are working in those fields. Mentor volunteers have responded enthusiastically saying they would be happy to discuss their jobs and work-related questions with individual students.

Students can inquire about career paths, the need for graduate degrees, industry trends, company culture, etc. Typical questions might include:

  • What do you find most rewarding/most difficult about your work?
  • How does your job relate to your major?
  • What might you have done at Westfield State University to prepare better for a career in your field?
  • What are the typical daily responsibilities in your job?
