Practicum Application Procedures

Students:

Below are directions for submitting your practicum application. The new deadline for submitting a practicum application for all students is APRIL 30th. We recognize that it is likely you will not have all of the signatures required on a traditional application. This is not a problem and we will handle signatures internally.

We are currently monitoring the MTEL testing dates and cancellations. Please continue to sign up and register for any tests you need. The updated dates are on the Information for Student Teacher Applicants document but we will evaluate as needed.

Complete your practicum application online through our new online submission process. You will need to complete a total of 3 forms. CGCE students have an additional form if they are completing a practicum equivalent internship. ​Students are also required to complete the CGCE post-baccalaureate application process.

Post-Baccalaureate Application Process:

Students can access the post-baccalaureate application on explore.westfield.ma.edu. An application fee waiver can be obtained by contacting the Graduate and Continuing Education office at wsucgce@westfield.ma.edu or 413-572-8020.

After application submission, students will be required to upload their official PDF Communication and Literacy passing MTEL scores and professional or academic letters of recommendation. Students who are applying for practicum within one semester of graduation would submit one letter of recommendation. Students who are completing practicum more than one semester after graduation are required to submit two letters of recommendation. Official transcripts would not need to be requested unless you have attended a college or university after graduating from Westfield State University.
