Liberal Studies Degree (B.S.)

Why Major in Liberal Studies (B.S.)?

The B.S. is designed to be an intellectually coherent interdisciplinary concentration providing study in two professional disciplines as well as a related liberal arts area. Two of the three concentrations are chosen from the departments of Economics and Management, Computer Science and Criminal Justice. The third area of concentration may be selected from other departments or from approved academic programs such as Ethnic Studies or Women and Gender Studies.

Requirements for the B.S. in Liberal Studies

The B.S. is designed to be an intellectually coherent interdisciplinary concentration providing study in two professional disciplines as well as a related liberal arts area.

The credit requirements are the same as those listed above for the B.A. in Liberal Studies.

For the B.S. degree, two of the three concentrations are chosen from the departments of Economics and Management, Computer Science and Criminal Justice.

The third area of concentration may be selected from other departments or from approved academic programs such as Ethnic Studies or Women and Gender Studies.

    Additional Graduation Requirements

    All students must meet the University Graduation Requirements and complete a common core of studies, distributed among the different academic areas as detailed in the Common Core .
