About Us

Persona, the student-run Literary Arts Journal of Westfield State University, features student submissions of artwork, photography, poetry, creative nonfiction, and fiction. First, second and third place winners are chosen from each category and win cash prizes along with being published in the journal.

Aside from general submissions, which are open to all students aisde from the named staff and editorial board, there are several events held throughout the year -- Flash Fiction and Flash Poetry -- where students can compete, using themed prompts, to have their work accepted into the journal. Editorial staff are allowed to participate in these events.


Upcoming Events:

Look out for any upcoming Flash Fiction or Flash Poetry contests. Events held in Sring 2014 will be judged for the Persona 2015 edition.

The journal will be released in April 2014.


The deadline for submissions for this year's issue of Persona is December 8th

Staff submission are due in by December 11th

Winners and accepted submissions will be evaluated in Spring 2014.

Submissions for the 2015 edition of Persona will be taken from December 9th until the end of the Fall 2014 semester. Please include your name and email on all copies of your work for future notifications. Submissions collected after December 8th, 2013 may not be acknowledged or responded to until Spring of 2015.
