Walkability Audit for Holyoke Neighborhood (Spring 2011)
In collaboration with the Holyoke Department of Planning and Development, GARP 219 Land Use Planning (taught by Dr. Marijoan Bull) completed a Walkability Audit this spring for the Churchill Neighborhood in the city. Using a form they designed, students spent 6 weeks assessing physical conditions. This information was combined with GIS based data on the ability to meet basic needs within a 1/2mile radius and other urban design standards for walkability.
Regional Planning majors Mark Cabral and Dylan Walker won Best Student Poster Award at the 2011 Southern New England American Planning Association (SNEAPA) Conference.
