Sharing Online Best Practices Showcase 2019

Call for Self-Nominations: The CIT Exemplary Courses Advisory Group would like to invite faculty to showcase their online and hybrid/blended courses.

This year we will be doing a different process, which is much easier.

Instructors will prepare a 5-8  minute  Screencast-O-Matic presentation of their online and or hybrid/blended course. Highlighting course presentation materials, interaction, use of tools, ease of navigation, innovative practices, discussions and the techniques that students respond to best.

Please provide the following information- in the linked form below

  • Faculty email
  • Faculty Name and Department
  • Format – Online or Hybrid/Blended
  • Course Name and Number
  • Number of times you have taught this course.
  • Course Description – Can be official or create a short paragraph about the course
  • List the  features that students really like about the course
  • Video Presentation Web link – submission should be be either a Screencast-O-Matic or YouTube web link.

Submit the online form by April 26th to submit your Self-Nomination
Complete a separate form for each submission.

This showcase will serve as a self-nomination to be considered for the WSU Exemplary Online, Hybrid/Blended Courses 2019 Award.  All showcase participants will receive a certificate.

Five courses will be honored as the “WSU Exemplary Online, Hybrid/Blended Courses 2019” for a final presentation and ceremony on DATE TBD and two of those courses will be selected (one online, and one hybrid) for the Courses of Distinction Program for the campus.  They will receive an award at the Massachusetts Colleges Online Conference June 7th at Fitchburg State University.  CIT will sponsor their registration. The faculty whose courses are selected by the CIT Exemplary Courses Advisory Group will need a letter of support from their Department Chair.  

Sharing Online Best Practices Showcase – Date to be determined

The instructors whose courses are selected will each receive an honorary plaque and will be added to the CIT Exemplary Course Wall of Fame. The two courses selected will receive the Massachusetts Colleges Online Course of Distinction (COD) Award at the annual MCO Conference on June 5th, 2018 at Framingham State University.
