Ted Levine

Ted Levine (alto sax) Is a composer, performer and teacher who is heard frequently with jazz ensembles in western Massachusetts and with the Pittsburgh Collective who record on Oxingale Records label.  He has taught at Western New England College and Holyoke Community College, and teaches jazz history, applied saxophone, and jazz combo at Westfield State University.  He has performed with Randy Brecker, Jon Faddis, Jimmy Knepper, Eliane Elias, Mario Pavone and others.  He was a “jazz discovery” on BET, and his most recent recording is Night Sounds on Playscape Recordings, which received rave reviews from downbeat, Jazz Times, and Cadence (which referred to the cd as “an uplifting experience”), and was awarded 4 stars from the All Music Guide.
