Westfield State Dining offers a variety of healthy menu choices for all students, including those with special dietary needs. We focus on stealth health, so you will notice the availability of more seasonal fruit and vegetables, reduced sodium in all recipes, smaller portion sizes and more whole grain options at every meal.
What is Stealth Health?
We incorporate a “Small Plate Big Flavor” concept to promote healthy portion sizes without compromising flavor. Our recipes are created with:
- Less sodium
- Healthier oils
- More whole grains
- Sustainable seafood and lean meats
- Local produce
- More plant-based proteins
Food Allergies and Special Dietary Needs
All dishes are labeled with menu identifiers. The identifiers include the item name, color-coded icons, nutrient analysis and the top 8 allergens, plus corn and sesame.
Additionally, all ingredients and allergens are listed on our Online Menu Website. To use the allergy filters, click on “set filters” in the top right corner. From here, you can select “does/does not contain.” Once you select the items and hit apply, only the menu items containing or not containing the allergens will appear.
Our Registered Dietitian is available to help guide students with food allergies and special dietary needs. Consultations are free for all students on a meal plan.
