Farewell from the Outgoing Alumni Association President

I have been honored and privileged to represent Westfield State University as president of the Alumni Association. It has been such a rewarding opportunity to attend numerous alumni and University functions and experience the passion and excitement everyone shares for Westfield State. The University is represented by over 37,000 alums—and your participation and input into your alma mater is vital.

In order for the association to continue to thrive, I’d like to personally ask each of you for your support over the next year and beyond. First and foremost, please plan to attend a few events this year. You’ll surely be able to find more than enough events of interest to you. Our goal for every Westfield State event is to incorporate an opportunity to network with other alums—before, after or as the central focus of the event. So come out and enjoy yourself with your fellow alums.

I intend to stay actively involved. You can reach me any time; I love receiving your phone calls and emails and hope that current and future alumni continue to stay in touch and support this association. Participate. Give back. Stay connected. Thank you again for your continued support.

Incoming Alumni Association President Takes Reins

I am looking forward to my upcoming term as president of our Alumni Association and to all the new opportunities to gather alums together during this year. The Alumni Association Executive Council has some exciting ideas for events at Homecoming, Reunion Weekend and more, and I hope to meet many of you at these and other events. Westfield State, whether college or university, was a big part of each of our lives, and I hope that each of you finds a time to reconnect with the school, your friends or maybe even your favorite faculty member. I look forward to hearing from you about your ideas on ways to reconnect—through an on-campus event, an online program, a volunteer opportunity in your community or something else. Please feel free to reach out to me via email at WSU_NancyDaly90@comcast.net. We are 37,000-plus alums strong, spanning many decades, so let’s continue to reconnect and make a difference for those who have yet to join our ranks as Westfield State Alumni.

Calling All CJ Majors

Criminal justice majors—it’s time to reconnect. Come on home to Westfield State. You won’t believe how we’ve changed. There are more than 7,000 CJ alumni, and so many of you have said you would like to get together to catch up, network and just have fun. As your CJ faculty, we would love to see you again. Our CJ alumni are federal, state and local success stories (see stories, Pages 10 and 11 for just a few of them), and we are proud of you. Join us for Homecoming 2014 on Saturday, Oct. 25. We personally invite you to meet us at The Nook after the game.
