Information Technology
Our Mission
The Information Technology Department is responsible for providing, promoting, and servicing a modern technology infrastructure for
Westfield State University. We strive to provide quality products and outstanding customer service to the College community. We are a
service-based organization providing faculty, staff and students with the necessary tools and resources to maximize their teaching
and learning experience.
Academic Services
We promote, deploy, and support the use of instructional technology in all classrooms and laboratory venues ensuring that leading
edge technologies can be readily integrated into academic curriculum upon demand. We offer help desk support to faculty, staff and
students as well as an after hours telephone support line for faculty and staff.
Administrative Systems
The Administrative Systems group provides both technical and functional support within the current student, finance and alumni areas
of the Oracle driven Banner software suite. These responsibilities entail, but are not limited to, ensuring that the latest software
and hardware related updates are in place, web for students and faculty support, SQL script development, report writing, as well as
evaluating new functionality features of the latest software and hardware that would benefit the Banner user community.
Infrastructure Services
We implement, develop and maintain a highly scalable, accessible and secure infrastructure environment that supports cutting edge
technology, academic demands and supports the mission of Westfield State University. Infrastructure Services is primarily responsible
for Active Directory services, e-mail services, LAN, WAN and wireless connectivity as well as enterprise-level backup and restoration.
Media Services
We facilitate interoperability, connectivity and telecommunications among campus constituents (cable TV, telephone and voice mail.)
We deploy, facilitate and support the use of audio-visual equipment (public address systems, stereo equipment, camcorders, TV, DVD,
VHS/VCR, overhead projectors, screens, cordless microphones etc.) Dever Stage Technical Information
