Christina Swaidan, Ed.D.

Dr. Christina Swaidan is the Interim Dean of Undergraduate Studies at Westfield State University in Westfield, Massachusetts. She provides vision and leadership to programs that advance undergraduate education and support student success at Westfield State University. These include the Office of the Registrar, Office of Academic Achievement, Academic Advising Center, Transfer Transition office, Banacos Center for Disability Services, Federal TRIO program and the Urban Education program for first generation college students. She is currently the chair of the President’s advisory committee on Diversity, Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity. Dr. Swaidan is a champion of diversity and inclusion across the campus.

In addition to having been a full-time faculty member for 11 years, Dr. Swaidan has served in a series of administrative roles including Chair of the Department of Art. Dr. Swaidan served for four years as the Chair of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Committee for the Massachusetts State Colleges Association Union. During her 20-year career in education, she has served as an administrator in both Secondary and Post-Secondary education.

Dr. Swaidan received a Doctorate of Education from the University of Hartford in Educational Leadership in 2010. She holds a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Saint Joseph’s University, and a Bachelors of Arts in European Studies from Mount Holyoke College.
