Westfield State University Campus Police Headquarters
The Department of Public Safety Campus Police are authorized under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 22C, Section 63, to enforce State laws and have arrest powers like other police agencies in the Commonwealth.
The Department of Public Safety/Campus Police is responsible for the enforcement of the Massachusetts General Laws and for protecting life and property on the Westfield State University Campus. University Police Officers have the power of arrest in the Commonwealth and are Special State Police with full police powers.
Campus Police Officers not only enforce federal and state laws but also enforce University polices. They are a critical part of the University's own judical system. Campus Police Officers are also responsible for the investigation of crimes on campus.
