Student Handbook

The Student Handbook provides you with your rights and responsibilities as a student as well as important information to help you make decisions about your academic and personal success. It is recommended that students should review the Handbook each year.

Case Management Team

If you believe a student is in immediate danger of harming themselves or others, please call University Police 413-572-5262.

Westfield State University has a caring and supportive multi-disciplinary team that meets regularly to empower and provide support to students who may be struggling academically, socially, physically, mentally, and financially. Faculty, staff, students, and families are often the first to notice a change in behavior. If you are concerned about the physical or mental well-being of a student, please review these resources and consider submitting a report. Once a report is received, a member of the team will follow up with you and discuss a plan for best supporting the student.

Please understand, a student’s privacy is very important to us. We work hard to balance a student’s right to privacy with the University’s duty to respond to students experiencing harmful and/or at-risk behaviors. While we are able to receive information from you, we are bound by FERPA laws and often are unable to provide detailed information about the resolution of a concern.
