Tutoring Program

Banacos Academic Center

Westfield State University offers a robust peer-tutoring program that is available for all students. However, we cannot guarantee the availability of tutors for all courses.   Tutors are outstanding upper-level students who have been recommended by faculty.  The University compensates tutors at the rate of $10.00 per hour.

All tutoring is provided in the Banacos Academic Center.

It is important that students come prepare for their tutoring session. When a student fails to show for three scheduled sessions, the student will be asked to meet with the Tutoring Coordinator to discuss any concerns or issues that may be causing difficulty in the tutoring sessions as well as reinforcing the importance of promptness and attendance at all scheduled appointments.

To arrange for a tutor, students are asked to contact the Banacos Center.  Students seeking tutoring initiate contact with recommended tutors and arrange a time to meet.

The Tutoring Center is located in the Banacos Academic Center.

When classes are in session the Center is open from:

  • Sunday: 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Monday through Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
