Social Work
What Makes Us Great
Internships that offer opportunities to gain hands-on experience in relevant public and private social work agencies.
The Department of Social Work at Westfield State offers a BSW degree and an MSW degree. The BSW program prepares students for entry level social work positions. The MSW program prepares students for advanced clinical positions working with children and families. Both programs provide students with the values and ethics, critical thinking and practice skills, and the knowledge needed to practice in today’s complex world.
Undergraduate Program:
- Major in Social Work leading to a BSW degree
Graduate Program:
- MSW degree with a concentration in clinical practice with children and families
What the future holds: Graduates work in public and private schools, at in-patient and outpatient treatment centers, residential treatment facilities, child welfare agencies, counseling centers, and hospitals and medical centers.
