Legislature

The Student Government Legislature is comprised of full-time day students at Westfield State University. Each Class Council has five SGA seats - one for the Class President and four for the respective class Reps to SGA. Each Hall Council has one Representative per one hundred residents living in the respective residence hall as well as the Residence Hall president. The Commuter population is represented by the Commuter Council President and one commuter representative for each one hundred commuting students. The Legislature has one Multicultural representative who represents the interests of the Third World Organization, LAFE (Latino Association For Empowerment), SAGE (Student Activists for Gender Equality), Students for Peace and Justice, and the Gay/Straight Alliance. Also elected is a representative to Alumni, who acts as a liaison between SGA and the Alumni Office on campus. The SGA legislative body is rounded off by nine All College Representatives who represent the student voice as a whole.
