Scholarships
Presidential Merit Scholarships
These are college-funded merit-based grants that recognize the outstanding academic achievement of selected new first-year students at Westfield State University. A limited number of Presidential Scholarships are awarded annually. The award is $4000. First-year applicants who are Massachusetts residents and meet the following criteria will be considered automatically:

Combined SAT-I score of 1200 or higher; and

High school cumulative grade point average at the time of acceptance to the college of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale (and/or class rank in the top 25%).
Presidential Scholarships are renewable each year for a maximum of four years by maintaining a 3.30 cumulative average or by maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA with at least one Honors course completed per semester.
Tsongas Scholarships
These are state-funded merit-based grants that recognize the outstanding academic achievement of selected new first-year students at Westfield State University. A limited number of Tsongas Scholarships are awarded annually. First-year applicants who are Massachusetts residents and meet the following criteria will be considered automatically.

Combined SAT-I score of 1200 or higher; and

High school cumulative grade point average at the time of acceptance to the college of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale (and/or class rank in the top 10%); or

High school cumulative grade point average at the time of acceptance to the college of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale at the time of acceptance to the college with at least two Honors or Advanced Placement courses completed or in progress.
Tsongas scholarships, which equal the annual cost of tuition and fees, are renewable each year for a maximum of four years by maintaining a 3.30 cumulative average on a 4.0 scale.
