Decisions & Deadlines

DECISIONS:

Admission is selective and decisions are made on an individual basis by the Westfield admission staff in accordance with guidelines established by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education (DHE). Because of the quantity and quality of applicants, the College has reserved the right to set higher minimum standards than those published by the DHE.

When considering applications, the following are the most important criteria:

  • grades earned
  • cumulative grade point average calculated using BHE standards
  • the level of difficulty and distribution of coursework
  • SAT-1 or ACT scores (when required)

The staff also looks at other criteria, including:

  • co-curricular activities
  • community involvement
  • leadership skills
  • letters of recommendation (optional)
