Our thoughts are with all of our students, their families, and the greater community during this difficult time. To better support students, and the entire WSU community, the Counseling Center will be offering Virtual Wellness programming throughout the remainder of the spring semester. **To learn more about scheduling individual teletherapy with the Counseling Center, or to get connected with a counselor, you can visit our COVID-19 Resource Page here
Starting the week of April 13th, join one of the staff from the Counseling Center Monday-Friday for a guided relaxation session. Each session will be between 15-30minutes and will explore a different relaxation strategy that you can use to support yourself and manage stress and anxiety during this unprecedented time.
Upcoming Relaxation Daily Dose Schedule:
Mondays at 2:30pm with Julia
Tuesdays at 3:30pm with Mowie
Wednesdays at 4pm with Amy or Nathan
Thursdays at 11:30am with Lynn
Fridays at 2pm with a rotating Counseling Center staff member
While there is no more in-person pet therapy at WSU this semester, the Counseling Center is bringing virtual pet therapy to you! You can visit our instagram page to see cute, calming photos of pets every weekday! You can also DM us your favorite photos of your own pets to be featured on our Instagram! The Counseling Center staff is bringing a new live series to students, addressing the most relevant and pressing concerns of our students at this difficult time, such as: how to manage stress and anxiety in this unprecedented moment, how to navigate loss and grief (heads up: that discomfort you're feeling is grief!) around the many changes and losses students are facing, and more! Counseling Center staff will also be accepting questions from students about the topic of that week in advance of the webcast (send an email with your questions to: firstname.lastname@example.org) and will be taking students' questions live.
The Counseling Center's third live broadcast is 'Into the Weeds: a Marijuana Webinar.' We encourage students to begin submitting any questions that they may have related to marijuana use and mental health at this time to (email@example.com). The live webcast will be broadcast on Wednesday, April 29th, from 11-11:30am on Instagram Live! To access the event, visit the WSU Counseling Center's Instagram page, here
