Safe Zone Training
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Loughman Living Room, Scanlon Hall
The mission of the Safe Zone program at Westfield State University is to improve visibility and support for LGBTQIA students and employees by training a network of allies who are sensitive and affirming to the needs of the LGBTQIA community on campus. We seek to improve WSU’s campus climate by inspiring a vision of diversity that is engaged in and appreciative of the issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity/expression.
Through education, advocacy, and awareness, these allies will be empowered to:
- speak out against homophobia and transphobia
- confront heterosexual assumptions & privilege
- promote a safe, confidential and supportive environment for all members of the WSU community
Are you interested in being an ally on campus to the LGTBQIA community?
