Hello everyone! My name is
Ms.Herzig and I am so excited to be spending this school
year with you! Before we jump into the year, I feel we should get to know each other! Little bit about myself, I am from the city of Chicopee in Western Massachusetts. I love being outside, so this would be something I would love to incorporate into our school year together. I also have a Basset Hound named Hooch! I have been teaching at Bright Side for about three years and graduated from Westfield State University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education with a concentration in psychology a little over three years ago! I am looking forward to having an amazing year with you all! If anyone has any questions and concerns I can be contacted by email at: kherzig@brightside.ma.edu |
Hello all! My name is Kelley O’Connell and this is my third year teaching at Bright Side Elementary. I graduated from Westfield State University just over three years ago with a Bachelors Degree in Special Education and have been lucky enough to call Bright Side my home since. I grew up in a small, Massachusetts town called Longmeadow, where I lived with two, hardworking parents and many, faithful Golden Retrievers. My sister got me interested in the sport of Horseback riding at a young age and my mother passed onto me a passion for swimming, both of which I participated in, competitively through high school and college. (Ask me about my horse, Pickles!) I look forward to getting to know each of you as well as your learning styles and preferences and together, I know we can make this year a colorful, inclusivity, where everyone of us feels comfortable speaking and learning in our own, unique ways. Please never hesitate to reach out with questions, comments, and concerns. I promise to do my best to respond in a timely manner. Email: koconnell@brightside.ma.edu |
Our View on Technology in the Classroom! |
Technology
is a growing part of today’s society that is being
integrated into education. While it is very important that
children know how to properly use technology, it is also
important to not lose site of what we are trying to teach
them. Technology will be something that will be a tool to
help with the topic we are going over in class, not
replace the traditional teaching process. |
