Mr. Pickels and Fluffinator will be living with us for 4 weeks! We as a class brainstormed 10 names for our chicks, and then performed 2 rounds of voting the week before they hatched to get the 2 winners. They were hatched in the classroom, and have given the students a hands-on experience of the life cycle. Now they are practicing the responsibility and problem-solving of taking care of both chicks. This includes regulating the temperature in their cage, feeding them, cleaning the pine shavings, providing them with water, and most of all giving them lots of love! All the students are keeping a science journal documenting the life-cycle of the chicks, and the needs of all living things including their pets. After the 4 weeks, Mr. Pickles and Fluffinator will be going to the O'Malley Farm in town!
