The Roman Empire is one of the most renowned empires in history. The reason is because most of western civilization's life style and costumes was determined by the Roman influence. This is so evident that even the calendar used today is roman design and the number system is still used. Also the fact that the Roman Empire controlled so much territory, that Latin language got spread and other more modern languages derived from it like French, Spanish and Italian. Because of the Roman Empire vast size they in one point has considering having a second capitol.
