Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus, might be the most famous Roman Emperor, because of his popularity and mythical views of what Rome should be. Originally his name was Gaius Octavius Thurinus, but changed his name to cement his role in Rome. He was the first of the golden emperors of Rome. After his uncle changed the republic to imperial rule, he was then the example of how an emperor of Rome should act and placed the standards for the rest of the emperors after him.
