Lesson Topic or Theme: What are the steps of the digestive system?

Lesson Objectives: The students will be able to correctly label a diagram of the digestive system and describe in writing the steps of the digestive system.

Instructional Technique: Review of parts and steps of the digestive system through lecture and question and answer. Review activity using digestive system interactive website.

Instructional Materials: Interactive digestive system question website for review of digestive system material. Information on the digestive system from sources like textbook provided by school in which teacher and students can use information.

Theoretical Perspective:  The importance of this lesson is to help students learn to combine learned material, to look at the big concept, and to review learned material in a visual way in anticipation of section quiz.

Procedure:

A. Introductory Activity:

Teacher: Introduce lesson topic of review of digestion and conduct question and answer session on what students know about digestion.

Students: Participate in discussion of what they know about digestion.

B. Step-by-step:

Teacher:

• Review the parts and steps of the digestive system.
• Conduct question and answer session to review digestion.
• Introduce activity of interactive digestive system game and give directions
• Walk around class and help students and answer any questions they have.

Students:

• Participate in question and answer session on digestion.
• Start interactive digestive system game.
• Ask questions if confused or unsure.

C. Closure

Teacher: Wrap up activity and conduct question and answer session on what students learned.

Students: Participate in question and answer session.

Teacher: Inform students of upcoming quiz on topic and what material to study.

Students: Write down quiz information and ask any questions they have remaining.
