National Criminal Justice Honor Society

Alpha Phi Sigma is the nationally recognized honor society for students in the criminal justice sciences.  The honor society is open to those with a declared criminal justice major or minor, and recognizes academic excellence in undergraduates as well as graduate students of criminal justice.

Students must be recommended to National by the chapter advisor, and must meet the following qualifications:

  • Undergraduate students must have completed a minimum of 40 credit hours toward graduation, and a minimum of four courses within the criminal justice curriculum.  The student must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.2 and a minimum GPA of 3.2 in criminal justice courses, and also rank in the top 35% of his/her classes.
  • Graduate students are required to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.4 in both criminal justice courses and overall.  Students must have completed a minimum of four courses within the criminal justice curriculum, and one-third of their total hours required for graduation.

There is an enrollment period during each academic year in the fall semester.  Further information regarding deadlines for enrollment will be posted.
