Dr. Cook's research has focused on the effects of terrorism on business executives and on executive safety. Before completing his graduate studies, he served as an investigator in an Inspector General's office, as well as in the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Investigation of the City of New York. There, he was assigned to work with the Special Prosecutor in Kings County investigating corruption in the New York City School System. He also has worked as a security consultant and has written a variety of articles and a book -- Security Systems: Considerations, Layout, and Performance -- related to electronic security systems. His areas of interest include terrorism, multinational crime, corruption, drugs and crime, and security management.
