Continuing Education Degree Programs

Take the Next Step towards your Bachelor’s Degree

Maybe you've just completed your Associate Degree and want to keep the momentum going. Or maybe you've been out of school for a while and want to improve your employment opportunities.  Whatever your reason for returning to college, we have you covered, with the ability to take continuing education courses in the traditional classroom, online, or a combination of both. Westfield's degree completion programs are affordable and accessible for today's busy student.

  • Classes are offered in the day, afternoon and evenings, and online
  • Full-time and part-time options
  • Attend year-round with five semesters available in the fall, spring, winter, and two summer sessions

*Some programs can be completed fully online as part of our Online Degree completion program.

Applications Accepted Year Round

You have the flexibility to start in the summer, fall, or spring semesters.
We recommend that all admission material be submitted 4-6 weeks prior to the start of the semester in which you'd like to enroll. 

Transfer Previous Credits Earned

Official and sealed transcripts will be reviewed during the application process to determine equivalency for transfer. If accepted, an individualized program of study will be developed just for you!

Recommended Application Deadlines

Spring Start- November 1

We may accept the following credits in transfer:

  • Four Year School – 90 credits max
  • Two Year School – 79 credits max
  • Or a combination of the two
*If you're pursuing a Second Bachelors, at least 30 credits must be from Westfield State to earn your degree.

In order to receive a bachelor’s degree from Westfield State, minimally students must:

  1. Satisfy all common core requirements
  2. Satisfy all major requirements
  3. Have at least 120 undergraduate credits. At least 30 of these credits must be taken at Westfield State University.

*Students should work closely with their academic advisor to ensure that all requirements for graduation are being met.

  1. Completed application, including non-refundable $50 application fee.  (Fee is waived for Massachusetts community College graduates and applicants who are currently serving or have served in the Armed Forces.)
  2. Official and sealed transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities.
  3. Official high school transcripts (only if you do not have an associate’s degree from a Massachusetts Community College).
  4. SAT scores if you have been out of high school for fewer than three years and have not completed at least 24 college credits.
