In the wake of the recent waves of anti-Asian violence in the US, we have a panel of faculty who are known for their scholarship with regard to Asian Americans and/or teach for the Asian Studies Minor on campus.

  • Dr. Brian Chen (Professor, English Department): Vincent Chin and the Rise of Asian American Activism  
  • Dr. TJ Dong (Professor, Social Work Department) International Students in Search of the American Dream 
  • Dr. Shoba Sharad Rajgopal (Chair, Ethnic & Gender Studies Dept): South Asians & the Asian American Paradigm in Racial Justice 
  • Dr. Roy Saigo (President, WSU): “But we are Americans.” 
  • Dr. Makoto “Max” Saito (Professor, Communication Dept): Dialogic Interplay of Public Self and Private Self (Maintaining Harmony in Asian American Communities) 
  • Dr. Kevin Tatsugawa (Wilderness Leadership Program Coordinator, Movement Science Dept): Anti-Asian violence in the US in the COVID era.
