Before the first nursing class graduated in May 2014, the students took their medical skills to Guatemala on a humanitarian mission during what was their final college spring break.
In addition to managing their daily classes and assignments, students are also engaged in countless clubs, campus organizations and community service initiatives. This feature will give you a window into their world of events and symposiums.
While the capstone experience has always been required of environmental science majors, it has been retooled this past year by Tim Parshall, Ph.D., to have greater significance and impact.
You could confuse the grainy construction photo with a still from AMC’s Mad Men—the starched white shirts and narrow ties, the solid color overcoats, the wool fedoras. You’d be right about the time period: the photo was shot in 1969, the year that serves as the setting for the seventh season of the series.
Carlos Canino ’88 is no stranger to inner-city violence. He’s been in the midst of some of the toughest situations the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has seen.
