Westfield State ranked among top 100 in U.S. News & World Report ’s 2020 Best Online Programs

Westfield State University is among the top 100 colleges according to the U.S. News & World Report ’s 2020 Best Online Programs. The University is tied for #80 overall, ranked #3 among all Massachusetts institutions, is the only institution among its peer comprehensive Massachusetts state universities to appear in the list of more than 350 colleges nationwide.

“Westfield State University is honored to receive this recognition,” said President Ramon S. Torrecilha, PhD. “We proudly continue to provide effective educational pathways for all students, both online and on campus.”

Stefanie Sanchez, Ed.D., interim dean of the College of Graduate and Continuing Education, explained, “Westfield State offers flexible, accessible, and affordable programs to allow students to earn their degree in a way that works best for them with part-time and full-time online options. We recognize the importance for our students to be able to learn and receive support from faculty whose teaching methods are current and reflective of today’s online learning environment.”

At Westfield State, six bachelor’s completion courses, four minors, multiple online hybrid degrees, and numerous online courses are offered. Customized support is available to students through online tutoring and tutorials.

The University provides each student with course templates to ensure a consistent learning environment among courses, while faculty members participate in rigorous training and instructional strategies for effective online teaching.

Rankings were determined by several factors including assessments of each institution’s engagement, services and technologies, faculty credentials and training, as well as expert opinion. The exclusive rankings are available at www.usnews.com/online.
