Westfield State University and Greenfield Community College sign joint admission agreement

Westfield State University and Greenfield Community College (GCC) signed an agreement today to offer joint admission for select academic programs, beginning in the fall 2018 semester.

Under the agreement, students admitted to GCC will be provided guaranteed admission into Westfield State, pending completion of degree requirements at GCC and meeting the University’s admission standards.

“Through this agreement we build yet another bridge to opportunity for motivated students who dream of earning a bachelor’s degree,” said Westfield State University President Dr. Ramon S. Torrecilha. “Building that bridge for more individuals to pursue their educational goals is part of our mission at Westfield State.”

“We are pleased to again partner with Westfield State to offer our students a more secure assurance of continuing their education after earning an associate’s degree at GCC,” said GCC President Dr. Robert L. Pura.

In December, the two institutions announced a nursing degree partnership for an RN-to-BSN completion program at GCC’s satellite location at Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School in Northampton. Students will begin that program this fall. Westfield State has a similar partnership with Springfield Technical Community College, which began in spring 2017.
