Westfield State University Showcases Faculty Artwork

Westfield- Westfield State University will hold a month-long Faculty Art Show, showcasing the individual directions that 15 faculty members take with their artwork. The exhibit starts on Tuesday, November 1 in the Arno Maris Gallery in Ely Campus Center and runs through Saturday, December 10.

The show will display various disciplines of art including printmaking, painting, sculpture, drawing, graphic arts, ceramics, and illustration. Highlighted mediums include pen and ink, intaglio, photo intaglio and photopolymer intaglio, photography, line etching,  cola graph, watercolor, acrylic and acrylic stain, graphite, oil pastel, metal, digital painting, stoneware clay, terra sigillata, shellac resist, horsehair, and digital sculpture.

There will be an opening reception on Wednesday, November 2, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Arno Maris Gallery in Ely Campus Center. On Wednesday, November 9, there will be a faculty discussion “Has Art Moved from a Personal Expression to a Cultural Expression?” led by guest moderator Angela Zammarelli.

The exhibit will run until Saturday, December 10. The Arno Maris Art Gallery is located on the second floor of the Ely Campus Center. Regular gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, visit or contact Faith Lund at
