Campus Police
Campus Police are authorized under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 22C, Section 63, to enforce State laws and have arrest powers like other police agencies in the Commonwealth.
The Campus Police is responsible for the enforcement of the Massachusetts General Laws and for protecting life and property on the Westfield State University Campus. Campus Police Officers are Special State Police and receive their police powers from the Colonel of the Massachusetts State Police.
Campus Police Officers not only enforce federal and state laws but also enforce University polices. They are a critical part of the University's own judicial system. Campus Police Officers are also responsible for the investigation of all crimes on the WSU campus and other property owned or leased by the university.
