Employee Recognition

Our employees work hard.

Recognizing the contributions that each employee makes to our organization is what sets us apart.

Employee Recognition Program

Human Resources partnered with the Employee Recognition Council to create a monthly Employee Recognition Program.  Recognition is important to all of us. Our primary goal with this program is to build a sense of belonging, to make employees feel valued and to promote a culture of kindness at the University.  You are the bridge to our students, community, and all WSU stakeholders, and we want to make sure those who embody the WSU values, know how much they are appreciated.

Employee Recognition Process: If you would like to recognize a colleague, simply send an e-mail to celebrate@westfield.ma.edu with the employee’s name, department, and why you are nominating that employee for an award. If you have a photo of your colleague, please send it along with the above information.

Annual Breakfast

Westfield State Rocking Chair in Recognition of 25 years of Service

Every year we hold a special breakfast ceremony that brings our entire campus community together and recognizes the hard work they do and the achievements made. We honor our colleagues that hit major mile-stones—5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years of service—and acknowledge that without any one of our employees, we couldn’t achieve the results we have today.

Recipients of the milestone awards receive a framed certificate and gift that corresponds to the years of service. For 25 years of service, employees are awarded a University chair delivered to their home in recognition of this major milestone.

Emeriti Awards

In addition to milestones, we acknowledge newly chosen staff and faculty emeriti at our annual breakfast for their substantial contributions and achievements they made while at the University.
