Q: How do I change/declare a major?
A: You must complete a Change of Major form and have the 'old' and 'new' academic departments approve your change. Submit the signed form to Parenzo 107, Office of the Registrar. Refer to the Course Offerings Booklet for the deadline to change a major in time for pre-registration.
Q: When must coursework be completed for a grade of 'Incomplete' from the previous semester?
A: You must complete the required course work for an incomplete (I) by the fourth week of class of the following semester. If you do not complete the work within the required time, and an extension has not been approved, the grade will be automatically changed to an 'F'.
Q: How can an undergraduate student be named to the Dean's List?
A: You can be named to the Dean's List if you are a full-time undergraduate (at least 12 graded semester hours) and have a semester average of 3.3 or higher with no grade below 'C' and no grade of Incomplete.
Q: How can I get approval for transfer courses from other schools?
A: You must fill out a Course Permission Form and obtain the signature of the WSU department that offers the equivalent course. Once approved, submit the form to Parenzo 107, Office of the Registrar.. When you have completed the course, have an official transcript sent directly from the host school's Registrar's Office to WSU's Registrar's Office and the course will be posted to your WSU record.
Q: What do I have to do to notify WSU that I intend to graduate?
A: You must fill out a Degree Completion Plan/Diploma Order form, preferably when you register for your last semester's classes. The submission of this form will alert us to audit your Core and Major/Minor progress and to order a diploma for you.
Q: May I participate in Commencement even though I won't be quite finished with my program when it takes place?
A: Yes. Students who have completed at least 114 semester hours may petition to participate in the Commencement Ceremony in May. Some restrictions apply: students must need only two courses to complete at the time of Commencement, have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 in the major and a minimum 2.0 gpa overall.
