Day Division Fall 2018 Advising/Registration

DAY DIVISION ADVISING AND PRE-REGISTRATION FOR THE FALL 2018 SEMESTER
BEGINS MONDAY, MARCH 26, 2018 FOR DAY DIVISION STUDENTS!!

Advising begins on Monday, March 26, 2018 for the fall semester.  You will register on selected days according to your end of semester class level noted in the chart below for up to 17 credits maximum.  Course offerings booklets will be on campus around Friday, February 23, 2018 and will be available in Registrar’s Office, academic departments, and the Academic Advising Center.

Web-registration remains open through Friday, April 20, 2018.

Early Registration for eligible Honors and Banacos students will occur on Wednesday, March 28 and for select in-season athletes on Monday, April 9.  Please consult with your program director for specific qualifications.  Detailed information can be found on page 5 of the course offerings booklet.


Following the steps below will help to ensure a smooth registration process:

1.  CHECK REGISTRATION STATUS/CLASS LEVEL

Log onto myWestfield select the “Registration” tab and then “Registration Status.” When prompted enter “Fall 2018.”  This screen will show your class level for the registration dates noted above.

2.  CHECK REGISTRATION STATUS/CLASS LEVEL

To view what holds you have, click “view holds” at the bottom of the Registration Status page.  Holds may be placed on accounts at any time, check this screen often!!!

ALL HOLDS MUST BE CLEARED BEFORE YOU CAN REGISTER!

3.  MEET WITH YOUR ADVISOR/CHECK REGISTRATION PIN

Each class will have their own advising week between March 26 and April 12.  Some programs will offer early advising/registration before March 26 and students will be informed of this option (Honors/Banacos).

Print your audit to bring to your advising appointment:  myWestfield – Registration – Student Favorites – degree evaluation.

You must have your advising form signed!  Your advisor/department will issue you an “Alternate Registration PIN” to use when you register online.

Check your alternate PIN.  Although the registration window is not open, you can check the accuracy of that pin by selecting “add or drop courses” under “registration tools” on the “academics” tab.  When prompted enter your alternate PIN number to receive one of the following messages:

  Message
If your PIN is GOOD "you are not permitted to register at this time"
If your PIN is BAD “authorization failure - invalid alternate PIN”

4.  SELECT/SEARCH COURSES

During or after your advising appointment use the Course Offerings Booklet to find available courses and begin to build your schedule.  You may also us the online course search (Registration – Search Classes) to find available courses along with any restrictions (major, class, etc…) and pre-co-requisites.  Remember that students may register for a maximum of 17 credits during the pre-registration period. Additional credits may be added during add/drop at the beginning of the next term.

5.  REGISTER (ADD/DROP) ONLINE 7 AM ON YOUR DAY

Online registration opens at 7:00AM

Liberal Studies/Exploratory/Undeclared students:
Go to Parenzo Hall K/L for foundation or major course registrations — with assistance, students may access major-restricted seats.

PERMISSION TO ENROLL FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED EARLY - Students who know they will be blocked from entering a class (major/class restriction, missing pre- or co-requisites, etc….) may submit a “Permission to Enroll” form with appropriate signatures before their registration day.  See page 10 of the Course Offerings Booklet for more details.  This form may not be used for “closed section” or “closed to your class or major/reserved” registration error messages.

LAST DAY TO WITHDRAW FROM A COURSE
Last Day to Withdraw from a spring 2017 full-semester course is Tuesday, April 17, 2018!!
