Welcome Parents and Family Members!

As a parent or guardian of a first year student we invite you to join us for our Parent Orientation Program.  This program will help to introduce you to campus and provide you with important information about how to support your Westfield State University student! Whether your student plans to live on campus, commute, participate in the Urban Education Program, or comes to Westfield with a few credits already in place, our program is designed to ensure that you get all of your questions answered and make sure that you feel connected to the Westfield campus community as well!

June Parent/Family Orientation Information:

Parent Orientation Fees & Accommodations:  Registration fees for parent attendees are $50 per person, cover all meals and materials for the 1.5 days, and include complimentary housing on campus in our newest residence hall, University Hall.  Parent and family members staying on campus during the program will have a private room within a shared suite.  Each suite has a common area that includes multiple bathrooms, a full size fridge and lounge area.  University Hall has air conditioning, is fully accessible and has common space on the first floor for activities.  Please note that students will be staying with their classmates in a different building during the orientation program. For those that do not stay on campus during the program, there are a few local hotels in Westfield (Holiday Inn/Quality Inn) that are a short drive from campus.  Staying on campus or in a local hotel is not mandatory for parent/family guests.

Overview:  Our program is designed to ensure that you are able to get all of your questions answered, doubts resolved, and connections made with faculty, staff, administrators and current students.  Orientation is a 1 and a 1/2 day program for parent/family members too!  Please note, parents/families will participate in a program that runs parallel to the student program with limited overlap, so you will be separate from your student!
