Every week this page will change to reflect the upcoming lessons, objectives, and give you an outline of what to expect each day in class.
Week 21: March 13-17

~DINOSAURS!~

-Students will be able to construct a dinosaur.
-Students will be able to identify different dinosaurs.
-Students will be able to identify two characteristics of each type of dinosaur.

Monday- Today the children will listen to the story Dinosaur Bones.
During the story we will talk about fossils and how dinosaurs are extinct. At the art table the children will make their own dinosaur fossils out of playdough. during circle time the children will guess how many of their feet will fit into a T-Rex's foot print. We will use the children;s shoes for this activity. At the sensory table  the children will pretend to be paleontologists as they dig for dinosaur bones.

Tuesday- Today the children to listen to the story Dinosaur Galore! During the story the children will repeat identified rhyming words as the learn about dinosaurs. At the art table the children will use small pieces of sponge to paint a dinosaur body. During circle time, the class will vote on learning a dinosaur song, or watching a short video on the life of a baby Triceratops. A math and fine motor activity planned involves the children matching colored clothespins to the same colored dinosaur body. *Zoo on the Go

Wednesday- Today the children will listen to the story Stegosaurus. At the art table the children will finish making their dinosaurs by adding, features, including scales that they children have to put in order of the letters in their names. During circle time, we will continue our feelings unit. A science experiment is planned for the late afternoon where the children will use eyedroppers to melt ice that the dinosaurs are frozen in.

Thursday- Today the children will listen to the story Count-A-Saurus. During the story the students will work on identifying the number that comes next in the series. At the art table the children will choose what dinosaur they would be and draw a picture accordingly. In the the afternoon, the class will do a science experiment with a volcano! *Speech and Language Pathologist

Friday- Today the children will play outside in the morning. During circle time the children will vote on reading Triceratops, or T
yrannosaurus Rex. At the art center the children will make their own dinosaur fossils out of clay.
