Employee Recognition Breakfast, 2018

Fifty-five employees were honored during the 2018 Employee Recognition Breakfast on January 29. Seven former employees earned emeriti status and 48 current faculty, staff, and administrative members, celebrating service milestones ranging from five to 40 years, were recognized for their contributions to the University and its success.

Dr. Jalisa Williams, assistant vice president of Human Resources, welcomed the group and assisted President Ramon Torrecilha in presenting the honorees with their awards.

Each addressed the crowd and expressed their thanks to supportive faculty, staff, friends, and family. Their journeys at the University were fondly remembered, and some of their greatest achievements recognized. The University is truly honored to celebrate these valuable individuals who have shown their lasting positive impact on the campus and its students.

John Jones, Criminal Justice

At the event, John spoke about some of his achievements and memories from the past four decades, and wisely summed up his experience by asking, “Why stop doing something you love?” The University hopes to celebrate John and his lasting passion for education for many more years to come!
