WSU alumna and student recognized at EATA Convention

Julia Wyner '21 presents the results of her research investigation at the 2022 EATA convention.

Westfield State alumna Julia Wyner ’21 and fourth-year student Peng-Wen (Annie) Lin were recently recognized for their work at the 2022 Eastern Athletic Trainers Association (EATA) annual convention.

Wyner presented her recent investigation, “Mindfulness-Based Interventions Have a Moderate Effect Reducing Injuries and Impact in Young Adult Athletes,” at the convention. Paul Cacolice, Ph.D., assistant professor of sports medicine and human performance, mentored Julia on this project and served as co-author for the academic poster.

Fourth-year student Peng-Wen (Annie) Lin received the 2022 EATA Carl Krein Scholarship for excelling academically and clinically as professional (entry-level) athletic training student. She received a $3,000 grant.
