English Minor

Why Minor in English?

Students who would like to take a mixture of writing and literature classes are encouraged to declare an English minor.  English minors are required to take any six English courses (18 credits) at the 200- or 300-level.  At least two classes must be at the 300-level.  Please note that the following courses will not apply to the minor:  ENGL 0101, 0102, 0105, 0110, 0338, 0350 and 038.

The English minor is intended for students who would like to combine courses in writing and literature for a minor; therefore, students who declare an English minor are not eligible to declare separate minors in either literature and writing.
