Western Massachusetts Writing Project- About

WMWP is a local site of the National Writing Project, sponsored by the Westfield State University's Department of English and the School of Education, Arts, Communication and Humanities. WMWP provides professional development and literacy leadership programs by teachers for teachers.

We are a professional community of teachers who 

• Value reflection and inquiry; 
• Care about issues of race, gender, language, class, and culture; and
• Come together to deepen our experience as writers, share our knowledge and expertise, transform our practice, improve student learning, and develop expertise and leadership.
