Biography
Georgianna R. Shea, DNP, FNP-BC is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of experience in health care. She earned her bachelors of science in nursing degree (BSN) from Northeastern University and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of clinical roles, including pediatric and adult intensive care nursing at Baystate Medical Center, pediatric specialty nursing at Baystate Children’s Specialty Center, and specialized burn care at Shriners Burns Hospital for Children in Boston. Prior to joining Westfield State University, she worked as a nurse practitioner at Baystate Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. Currently, Georgianna serves as Director of Health Services at Westfield State University.
Georgianna is a strong advocate for student success and believes that comprehensive health and wellness services are essential to supporting academic achievement and personal development. She is committed to fostering a holistic approach to student care by integrating medical services, health promotion, mental health support, and public health initiatives. Her leadership emphasizes collaboration among Health Services, Counseling Services, Student Affairs, and campus partners to create a seamless continuum of care for students.
Outside of work, Georgianna enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons and can often be found at the hockey rink enthusiastically cheering them on, reflecting her lifelong love of sports, family, and community.
