The Career Center hosted two back-to-back fairs in October to promote internship and job opportunities for students.  The Business Job & Internship Fair brought 20 employer partners to campus to meet with over 100 Westfield State students who were eager to discuss current and future opportunities. The Counseling, Government, and Criminal Justice Career Fair brought 75 employers to meet with 278 students.

Career Center Director Junior Delgado noted, “Students were able to speak with employer partners and ask questions regarding the organization and their specific needs.”

Students and employers alike praised the event, with one employer remarking that the interactions with students were great. “They came prepared with questions and resumes looking for knowledge on internships and employment. This preparation created great discussions.”

Students were equally pleased, reflecting on the quality and variety of opportunities. “Everyone was so kind and helpful answering questions.”

The Career Center emphasized the importance of these events, not just to graduating students but to everyone as they provide a welcoming space to ask questions and explore what one’s future could be. In fact, students who are early in their studies are especially encouraged to attend to become familiar with the process before they are ready to be on the job search.  As one student remarked, “The employers were amazing and had great information to share.”
