Tim Honig

Tim Honig is an Assistant Professor and teaches courses in music therapy. Tim is a board-certified music therapist and Fellow of the Association for Music and Imagery. His music therapy practice has focused on mental health care and substance abuse recovery in inpatient and outpatient psychiatry. Tim has previously taught as a lecturer and clinical supervisor in the music therapy programs at Drexel University, Rowan University, Immaculata University, and Appalachian State University, and as the music therapy internship coordinator at Rockford Center. Tim’s research centers on music and imagery in mental healthcare and oncology, work that he has presented regionally, nationally, and internationally.
Tim is currently a doctoral researcher at Aalborg University, Denmark.

He holds the Master of Music Therapy from Appalachian State University, where he also completed the Music Therapy Equivalency and post-graduate certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy. Before that, Tim received the Bachelor of Music degree in music performance from Lawrence University.
