Art Minor

Why Minor in Art?

The Art Minor program is intended for non-art majors who choose to develop skills or an appreciation of art.  Students who wish to minor in art are required to take 18 credit hours within the Art Department.  Advisement for the courses to be taken in the minor should be by the Art Department Chair or other designated faculty member.

Requirements for the Minor in Art

The general Art Minor Program is for non-art majors interested in a general or specific area of concentration. This minor will be formulated by special advisement with the Art Department Chair or other designated faculty.

18 credits of ART courses are required with at least two courses (6 credits) in the 200-300 level.

Clubs & Organizations

Photography Club

This club was created to promote the art, science, and fun of photography.

OTAKU Club

The primary purpose of the Westfield State Otaku Club is to provide members of the club with information pertaining to Japanese animation.

Graphic Design Club

The Graphic Design Club provides members with a better understanding of graphic design and graphic arts in visual communication.

Art Club

The purpose of this club is to enrich the educational experience of all students interested in art by providing trips to art museums.
