First-Year Student Advising

Congratulations on your acceptance! The Office of Academic Advising is here to help you navigate your academic journey. We want to introduce you to the support and resources available to ensure a successful transition to Westfield State.

Key Steps:

1. Preference Form: First-year students can share their preferences through the New Student Advising Questionnaire to prepare for course registration.

2. Advising Support: We aim to honor preferences, considering factors like major requirements and course availability. Please note schedules are subject to change until January 12, 2024.

3. Future Planning: After the first semester, students will finalize their course schedules and connect with their assigned major advisor(s).

The Office of Academic Advising is gearing up for the new student advising and registration process using info from the New Student Advising Questionnaire. We'll reach out via your WSU school email with details.

Key Dates:

• Fall 2023 Entrants (Class of 2027): Look out for the New Student Advising Questionnaire in May 2023.
• Spring 2024 Entrants: Your questionnaire will be emailed on November 27, 2023. Please submit by December 21, 2023, for spring schedule planning (subject to change until January 12, 2024).
